i just got off the phone with a guy from makoto auto trends, and he says that they are not the ones that actually produce their items, they are mostly a distributor and that they have not alot of pushing power with their manufacturers, and that the best thing is to contact the manufacturer showing intrest.

the guy seemed like he knew what he was talking about and that he wasnt giving me the "well i really dont know, but ill pretend like i do"

he told me that sometimes they go down on stock for a few months at a time and remove the item from their site with intent to put it up later, and that it might pop up later on their site... but i feel that for a 12+ year old car those chances are slim to none...

that being said, there may be a chance if someone can find out who actually manufactures the corner light and give them a call... i seriously doubt that they have a customer service line, so for the most part we are SOL... and on top of that i dont think theyll really want to manufacture another 25 corner lamps for a group of taurus people...

guess we'll just have to stick to painting the stockers...

what would one recommend for paint and what would be the right procedure

whatever color matches your car, and you paint the orange reflector... standard painting procedure... clean, sand, clean, spray

Or we could try making our own. Once I get a little free time, I want to take a crack at making my own. I wouldn't really want to make a whole batch (I'm just a shade-tree mechanic), but I could at least do a writeup.

Thank you. I love it too. Ive got some more great Pictures I would like to turn into Sigs as well.

And About the clearcorners being crap.

The rubber strip that "seals" it against the fender is notorious for dangling out. I almost allways catch it with my microfiber towels when I detail my car.

The kwality for these things were crap. I have 2 sets and they're built with such flimsy material I'm suprised they last mroe than a few months (I've had a set for about 2.5 years now). Compared to how the stockers are put together these clear corners are vastly inferior.

They do look good tho.

I have been trying to get them but no one will sell them becasue they are not DOT compliant. The manufactuer only deals in large quanities and no one wants to sell them right now. I am trying.

Yea, DOT compliant. I flunked my dmv inspection because my clear corners are not DOT compliant. I'll just go back with the stock ones on, oh and pull the spout too to pass.
