There are several standards specified in 49CFR571.108 (Title 49, Part 571, Section 108 of the Code of Federal Regulations - THE LAW) that would prohibit the removal, covering, altering the reflective properties or the color of ANY of the lighting or reflective assemblies on ANY motor vehicle. Yes, you could be ticketed for changing the amber corner markers and turn signal lights. There must be an amber, side mounted, turn signal and I believe you are covering it up. Caveat emptor.

At least real clear corners still light up.This just blocks a safety reflector.

I think actual clear would look good. But blacked out looks like they are just painted over.

I just put white vinyl over mine. I like the look cause it doest break up the color. I am going all white with my 93. its got white slicers, white gen1 mirrors are coming soon and the black pinstripe is coming off too, and I am going to find some 94+ white door handles.
I will wait for a cop to actually stop me for it. It looks good to me :)

Scott, at least in Massachusetts, most officers follow the state law. I honestly have never heard of anyone getting written up for a DOT law, besides maybe a DOT cop. (is there such a thing?). Fact is, the mod is made, and then another bulb is substituted to keep the function that was originally for the reflector. Personally, I do not have and will not cover up the reflector, just thought I'd add what I said. On the rear however, I have my niteshades, which I like.

My guess is that most of the forum members are highway scofflaws in one way or another, except me: "Yes, I drive a SHO with a fresh 60K tuneup and I keep my cruise control set at a constant 55!" J/K! :D

On the front of the car, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought you could take off the side light panel and using a hair dryer, warm the amber panel up to loosen the glue and just pull the amber panel out. That would be easier than painting over it.

Personally I've left the outside of my car exactly the way it was meant to look. I like to drive fast and it's the best way to blend in.

Clear? It looks like you just covered up the federally-mandated amber corner markers with an opaque panel secured with an obvious screw. The pursuit of your own style shouldn't be at the expense of performance, safety or regulatory compliance.
Yeah, what he said. :p

real clear corners with amber bulbs would be your best bet, don't mean to offend you or anything but the black is really noticeable and if clear plastic is available i would get that instead
