Hey you finally caught up to the clear corner mod thats all the rage :p , IMO it makes a huge difference, especially when your trying to black everything else out.

Will that pass state inspection?
Don't motor vehicles require side amber reflectors, or lights?

I passed with no problem, I also passed the decibal test for exhaust wink but for some reason I still keep getting 5day registration suspension from cops, which basically means remove muffs and have it reinspected with offcial stamp with stock muffs.

It'll depend on who you go to and if they want to be a dick, plus I think all you would need is amber bulbs which is easy to swap over from white/champange color bulbs.

Clear? It looks like you just covered up the federally-mandated amber corner markers with an opaque panel secured with an obvious screw. The pursuit of your own style shouldn't be at the expense of performance, safety or regulatory compliance.

True. i think it falls in the same catagory as headlight covers. some places they are legal durring the day but they are illegal everywhere(that i know) at night. so unless a person would want to walk up to the side of their car everytime the sun goes down with a screw driver to take them off to drive safely, id say its a risk. as for driving with them on durring the day, even where they are illegal you could get away with it but it just takes that one cop who needs to make a quota and you get a ticket.
but bottom line in New York where i am, any modification to your stock lighting system is illegal.

I changed my side markers from amber to white on my '97 and made them cornering lights. I searched the Illinois vehicle codes and only found mention of amber side markers required on big trucks. No mention of side markers on cars as required equipment.

I believe all that is required is a amber bulb not the amber reflecter itself now if you have a champgne/super white bulb in there its a whole different story, especially with the wrong cop seeing it.

I've had my "clear" corners since July of last year with many pull overs for my tint/exhaust and cops never mentioned the corners, even with my almost champgne colored bulbs. I cant vouch for inspection because the tech who did is my friend.

Looks nice! :D I want to do clear corners on my 89 by gluing in a piece of a Sable corner piece, if I can cut it up enough to fit.

The 1st gen sables have completely clear corners. the amber piece on our gen 2 sho's are not lights only reflectors, so in essence not really neccisary. and i think the fasination is jsut that the amber color in general looks downright ugly IMO. but thats it. most newer cars dont even have the amber. just amber bulbs
