cleaning the maf

when running the k&n filter does any one ever clean the maf off from the oil residue .having a 2002 4.0l ranger pickup we have to clean our maf's every 20,to 30,000 miles or you get a stumble on idal just checking to see if any one has done this before?
(as for cleaning the maf all we do is use contact spray cleaner and spray the hot wires lightly and let them dry) .

Same deal. Cleaning the MAF is not uncommon at all, especially when an oiled air filter is being used.
