Just wonderin how i go about cleanin the egr vavle. I changed the egr sensor and am still pullin the code. For some reason the idle is fluctuatin pretty bad almsot all of the time. It evens likes to stalle out all the time. I have 2 open electrical wires that i have no idea where they go. Both come out of the firewall, one under the windsheild wiper motor and the other is by the driver side. The one under the wiper motor is a brown connector one wire is black the other islike an off-white with a small black stripe, and the one by the driver side is a black connector is a bllack wire and a yellow one with a white stripe. thanks for ne help. Also if ne one from michigan near monroe area would like to hook up let me know.

I think the one under the wiper motor is suppose to be open. While I was doing my valve covers I saw the same plug and no where to plug it. Didn't see the other you described but i'm sure it may be one of the empty plugs.
You may have to get a new EGR valve if you old one is stuck. I just swapped mine out instead of cleaning it. It wasn't too much from what I recall.

A Quick easy test to see if the EGR is blocked is to apply vacuum to it at idle. The engine should start running rough and or stall. If the idle doesn't change while vacuum is applied the intake port is clogged.
If you are still getting a code for the EGR after replacing the DPFE sensor check if there is vacuum going to the EVR solenoid at the red hose. That solenoid give's the valve the vacuum through the green line to open EGR at cruising speeds. The way to test it is to hook up a guage to the vacuum line at the valve and do an Engine Running Test,it will apply vac during the test if the EVR is ok.

Check the DPFE sensor it likes to get clogged up with crud. I cleaned mine and that code is now gone.

Its a grey square box about the size of a credit card on the rear drivers side of the motor to the lef of the EGR two vaccum lines plug into it.

What code are you getting? Sometimes the EGR valve on a SHO will be fine, but the passages in the intake will clog and need to be cleaned. If you're getting a 332 code that's probably your issue.

Your idle could be a old/sticky idle-air bypass valve, vaccum leak, or from a host of other problems. Make sure all your vaccum lines are connected right and clean your IABV.

im getting a 327 code so i changed dpfe sensor but was still getting the code. Ill do my best to check the egr vavle, and also check the price to see if it is cheap. My only problem is it was an engine i had out of a 93' sho atx (that i wrecked) but i finally put it into a 94' body i picked up cheap with the engine pretty much stripped. I did all the work myself and it was he biggest job i've ever did. Surprised i even got it runnin. Thanx for the help and ill give sum of those ideas a try

I dont have any of the exact tools to do some of thesse tests. I guess ill go buy a new egr vavle and see if it fixes it. The idle fluctuates really bad and stalls out alot. Like its gettin worse or sumthing. Ill let ya know. thanx
