This is an email message that CincySHO Sends out. Please take the time to read it.

Want to know what is going on with the SHO? Take a look at what we have found
out in recent months.

Valve Adjustment Shims Discontinued http://209.217.44.39/60K%20tools.htm
It has come to our attention that Ford is discontinuing the valve adjustment
shims which are appropriate for the SHO. This means that we will no longer be
able to get the shims for sale new. Now we continue to keep a good stock of used
shims in all the sizes, but the average do-it-yourselfer will find them hard to
come by. We plan to continue to rent kits with them to use, but more and more
they will be used only.

New Products in the wings http://209.217.44.39/news.htm
Even though we continue to see things slowing down for the SHO, we continue to
introduce new products. If you don't see what you want, just ask us and we will
let you know whether we have plans to introduce it. Many of our new products are
shown in a special section of the site as they are introduced.

Reaching us... http://209.217.44.39/feedback_form.htm
Now, you would think as the SHO gets older, we would get less and less volume in
business. That is not in fact what is happening. We no longer take orders over
the phone because of the volume of calls and the small staff here at CincySHO.
We encourage you to send us e-mail and visit the site for critical information,
including the status of your order. You can even leave feedback there or request
customer support.

As always, we try to be fair and provide decent service. We are not perfect and
will continue to try and make sure we treat you right.

Sincerely,

CincySHO Team
Cincinnati SHO

There you have it. Get your 60K done while you can with new shims.

Uh oh,that`s not good at all.Without the shims available, the SHO`s don`t stand a chance of staying around for years to come.I`m a bit worried about it.Maybe we should organize together and flood the Ford customer service with e mails about the concern. If they get 1,000+ mails about it in 1 day, they might take a look at it.Does anyone want to help do this?

For once Larry is right. I read over on the shotimes forum you can go to a yami bicycle shop and get the shims from there.

I wish i could remember where i read this, but Yamaha was supposed to supply their part to Ford for 16 years. In the past year,i`ve come across a couple parts that are obsolete. How about sending group mails the end on this comming week,or does someone know the part #`s for the Yamaha shims?

In order to even get anyone's attention that is important, the whole online SHO following would have to e-mail Ford, it would help if it all went to the same division of H/R or customer service at Ford.

And at least some of the 1142 members of this board only came once. I'm guessing the active people that visit atleast once a month is less than 600 people.

Yeah, like a petition. Just draft a statement of how we feel, then send it around and gather signatures via e-mail. I could help in writing this, if anyone's interested in doing it this way.

if the attempts to get ford to re-start production on shims for the SHO fails, (dont think it will succeed cause they view the amount of people who want them made and the sales numbers and everything, dont outweigh the cost of producing them again) its ok... cause as it was said before, there are shims for yami bikes that work, I'll go read over the SHOtimes forum to find the part numbers for everyone.

in a nutshell I asked them not to screw us over like they did with the Gen III owners and their cam problems, and I asked what the deal was about discontinued engine parts even though yamaha made the agreement with Ford. I told them that we can only go for so long by flipping the shims over before we have to buy new cams due to increased wear from using used shims, and we'll need new shims. Without them our cars will be useless, thanks to a horrible decision. I mean, what's an engine without its valvetrain!?!?!?!?
