WHAT the F^&* my dad is so ****** off the chromed plastic trim around the tail lights is peeling off and there is exposed gray plastic. we bought the car new in january. even the chrome exhaust tips are looking really bad. very poor quality chrome job. anyone else have this happen yet?

The chrome tips issue has been posted here already. Seems like northern salted road climates have seen this recently. First I've heard of the chromed plastic. I'd take it back to the dealer and see if they will repair it. Actually I'd probably look for body color plastic trim to replace the chrome.
is this avaliable as an oem part? i mentioned the chrome tips before any links to where it was mentioned before. we have a few things that need to be fixed cosmetically

Look at the regular Taurus plastic trim and see what it looks like. It might be body color or black (which happens to be the body color for your car). There are people on the forum painting their chromed plastic trim to change the appearance.
Maybe it was your previous post about chrome tips that I was referring to then. I remember reading it here and I think at least another member had commented that he too was experiencing something similar. I would take it to the dealer and see if they can provide a solution.

I just noticed this same problem on my SHO. I took it by the dealer today (Anderson Ford in Clinton). My salesman took a bunch of pictures and will be submitting it Monday. Both of the outer bezels on my car are peeling. The inners look fine. I'm thinking this is a supplier quality issue.
Yep! Bought mine in February. Will be at the dealer Friday for early service and alignment check. Car wants to go right, and wheel isn't straight. Will have them replace "both" tial light assemblies for peeling chrome.

Yep the alignments are not great, On Bills car on my Lift I could see the tires feathering just by eyeballing it.. Mine seems to just steer a bit funny, not sure what it is but my tires are not wearing yet..
I also have 4k miles and Bill had 9k.... there is another issue on the motor that Ive seen twice so far. I have to send in some pics to a friend of mine at Ford to see what he says..

I'm glad it's on and not "in" the motor, mind telling what the issue is?
This is is most likely a supplier issue, they should have fixed parts ready by now.

I haven't heard anything back from my dealer yet regarding "the fix". I posted pictures of mine over on corner-carvers and one person mentioned there was a recent supplier of chromed plastic parts that went out of business. It wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination to connect the two.

Talked to the dealer today and my new taillight assemblies should be in by Friday. The service manager said "they're aware they have a problem".

when my buddy tinted my rears, he pulled the tape off the chrome strips and some of the paint came right off. at the time i was blaming him, but now not so sure
