I checked my brake lights about 4 days ago they were working. I checked today when asked on nuetral switch question. Heart attack time no. Which is the fuse to them. I do not have an owners manual or what now went on it. HELP!

It's not a fuse, it's the BOO (brake on/off) switch. The switch is located down by the brake pedal. It will be pretty obvious once you look under there.

Yes there is a fuse. I dont know what year of car you have but mine was at the bottom left of the fuse pannel. (just going off memeory) Just check all you fuses by looking at them or use a Ohm meter and you don't even have to take them out. Just turn everything off at touch both sides of the small exposed spot on the the top side of the fuse.

Yes, there is a fuse, and yes, it is most likely the BOO Switch. It's not an expensive item ($15-20 I think from the Dealer, and about 15-30 billable minutes to install, if you choose not to do it yourself).

Just for the record my brake light fuse did go about a month ago for no reason at all. Replaced it and never had a problem again.

93bluesholady,

The cover over the fuse panel should have a label with a diagram of the fuse locations. The fuse panel itself will usually have the items controlled by the fuse listed under the fuse.

The items are abbreviated, for example horn would be HRN, but the information is there. If you find a blown fuse, replace it. If it blows again, start looking for a short or a faulty BOO switch.
