CHECK OIL...light???

What is the difference between the yellow "CHECK OIL" light and the red oil can light? I'm asuming the red light indicates low oil pressure while the yellow light indicates a low oil level in the pan, RIGHT??? Thanks for any info.

The yellow light comes on when you are about 2 quarts low in oil.

Thank god! It came on this morning and scared the shit out of me. Checked the oil level, approx 1.5 qts low, topped it up and the light went out. Don't have the time, money nor the energy to get into the engine at this time!!!

Hmm, mine came on, on my SLO, checked it, and it was fine... But then again, i have been getting random lights here and there. It finally just went off. My E-brake light came on the same time my oil lvl light came on.... Friggen wierd stuff...
