I guess its possible, I had it tested when I replace the battery in December. Wouldnt be the first time those dumb kids at advanced wronged me though lol. I have a nice MAC TOOLS multi-meter. Where should I hook it up and what should the numbers be? And as for the alt cable its about half the size of my amp cable. Its a little guy but it looks factory.

Start the car and put your radio up to where you like to listen to it and maybe throw your lights on too if you start putting everything in your car your voltage drop especially at idle. Turn the radio up and hook the volt meter to your battery. A healthy alt. should be charging at around 13-14 volts.

With the car at idle the meter reads 13.97 and when I crank up the radio it falls to around 12.40 when it hits bass really hard. Is it weak?

Looks like a large voltage drop due to the cables. Either that or the alternator isn't up to the job.

test the voltage again but raise the idle to 1200~ see if the voltage is still low. it might just be as simple as that. This falls into the alt not being upto the task. if this is the case a lpm or tweecer to raise the idle would solve this or have the alt rewound which might actually be cheaper.

I'm going to start looking for places that will rewind alts and see what the cost is going to be. Then I'll either do that or buy a new one. Do they sell higher output alts for a 92mtx?
