It's time for an oilchange in my SHO and my dad decided to suprise me and get spark plugs.

Autolite XP iridium Plugs-$6 a piece X 6 plugs= $36 then taxes- holy crap!

I didn't Pay for em, so I am putting em in!

I just wanted to ask if anyone had any tips or tricks for accessing the backside of the motor or making the job easier?

Also the reason why I am not doing plug wires too is cause when my dad got the plugs, napa didn't have the wires in stock, so we will do em next time.

Remove the intake manifold and it will be a breeze.

I would if I were doing the 30k,60k,90k,120k mile service, but considering I cant have my car tied up all day, I cant.

Thanks though, I know it would be LOADS easier considering how big the intake is!

It shouldn't take more than 30-40 minutes to remove the intake, even if you haven't done it before.

If you search here, some people have done it with certain swivels and sockets, but I don't know which.

Why not just wait until next weekend then?

I think you can do it with a swivel-head spark plug socket, if you don't mind wrestling on top of the intake for an hour or so.

x2 on the waiting. If you have oil in the plug wells I would definatly replace the plug well seals prior to putting in new spark plugs. Also, keep an eye on the plug wires...oil in the wells can cause them to go bad on you.

Get an arrangement of swivels extensions and sockets and you'll get it! Start on the rear that way when you get to the front it'll be cake LOL
