ccrm wire connector red plastic piece

I'm replacing my radiator right now. When I went to reconnect the ccrm, a red plastic piece fell out. I can't figure out where it goes or even if it is important. Is it supposed to cover some of the post contacts? If anyone knows, please respond soon. I would like to finish this today.

I don't recall a piece like that on mine. What does it look like??

I found a second identical rectangular piece on the driveway. I surmised that they fit between the contact posts beneath the rubber piece that the posts protrude through. I think they are there to spread the posts slightly upon tightening of the 8mm attaching bolt to facilitate a good connection.

I removed the rubber seal to straighten it out. It distorted during separation. The red plastic pieces fell out when I pulled the rubber seal out. Anyway, It seems to work fine. If this is all wrong, let me know.
