It's about that time folks!

June 3-5 will be here before we know it. Will we be pulling folks from all over again? (hope so!) Do we think we'll have the turnout to obtain the free tent this year? (hope so!) As long as I know there are enough folks to support it, free or not, I will make the arrangements to have it placed in our area. Let me know if you're planning to attend.

PLEASE use LIBERTY SHO CLUB when you register so that we don't confuse the folks at the desk. :bonk:

I am hoping that we are not on SHO mountain this year. It seems last time we paid dearly for that front and center spot we enjoyed again last year. Oh well...

I have been to carlisle and it is awsome. I will not be able to make it. Allthough I will be starting a new life in Penn in July, so I will make it next year.

I can't make it for all three days this time :frown: I may show up on Saturday. I'll even register to try to get the free tent. With any luck, I'll have a nice lopey idle to show off.

Vroom! Vroom!

If registered, show one/two or all of those three days? My question is about lodging etc., having never been to Carlisle. What does everyone else do?

I'd like to go, but would like to have a better perspective on planning for the weekend...

Thanks.

You can SHOw all three days. Saturday is the actual "car show" where participants vote on the vehicle categories in their particular field. (We do not vote on the sea of Mustangs.) Sunday they hold an award parade for anyone who wishes to participate.

Generally my group heads out Friday morning. We spend Friday walking the vendor spaces, Saturday walking the showfield, Sunday doing whatever last minute stuff we didn't accomplish before. All this connected with eating and drinking. LOL!

As far as lodging goes, there are a ton of places to choose from. Former hotel of choice was The Comfort Inn in Mechanicsburg which was approximately 9 miles away. This year I've booked at The Hampton Inn right at the Turnpike exit for the same money. In years past other SHO folks have stayed at a nice bed & breakfast very close to the fairgrounds or as far away as Harrisburg. If you're having difficulty getting reservations, don't fret - there are always cancellations that make eventual space!

OK Folks, I'm about to drop $150 for the tent and I'm being told there are only 4 SHOs registered?? This is not making me feel very warm and fuzzy since I am one of the four!!

Could we possibly get a SHO count so that I know the tent is going to be covered?

Last year we had 24 registered and there were some folks who put in extra for the tent so I wasn't stuck with the whole shortage. If we have 25, then it is free.

For those that are just coming up for Saturday, I believe the admission is ~$10 per person. You will likely pay someone ~$10 to park in their yard. If you're coming up with a friend or S.O. you might as well buck up the $35 and have preferred parking among your SHO brethern!

See everyone in a few weeks!

Hi Terri!

I'll be there on Saturday. I wasn't sure whether or not I'd have my cams done before the show. Looks like I made it with a couple weeks to spare.

I'll be in spaces IA 23-24. Not much Taurus stuff... mostly old Falcon parts. I'll have a set of wheels there but you'll have to show up to get details (don't want to violate the forum rules on ads!) The SHO will be... uhh, somewhere on the Fairgrounds.
