Hey guys,
I'm really hoping for some verification here. A little while ago I was having problems with the CCRM not relaying power to the fuel pump (I know it was the CCRM because when the fuel pump would not prime or anything all I had to do was give the CCRM a good whack and it would start fine). Well, that problem went away about 3 weeks ago and the car started and ran fine until I went on vacation last week. I took another car on this vacation (which lasted a beautiful 9 days). Now, when I got back from vacation the ol' SHO ran like CRAP. Here's the rundown of the problems....

DAY 1 - TUESDAY - Car starts OK but runs terribly. Bucks and sputters a lot with random RMP drops, but not not deceleration, only when at idle and acceleration. After 30 minutes or so of driving it begins to smooth out and after an hour and a half it's fine.

DAY 2 - WEDNESDAY - Car starts OK but stalls out when I press in the clutch while backing out of the driveway. It takes 5-10 minutes to get it started and running again. Running VERY rough. I had to hold the RPM's a 2,500 to keep it from stalling out after it did decide to stay alive. So, like an idiot I decided to take it to work anyways. The whole way to work it would buck upon acceleration and did not idle smooth at all. Also stalled out a couple of times while sitting at lights. After work I could not get it started at all. So since Wednesday it has been stuck there.

DAY 3&4 - THURSDAY and FRIDAY - Try to start the car during my smoke breaks at work with little result. It actually did start a couple times but did not run for more than5 seconds or so each time unless I held the RPM's up again.

OK, so here is some more info and oddities I experienced. On Wednesday I was sitting in the car at work with the key in the on position without the engine running and 2 things were happening. First, the fuel pump was running constantly and second, there were random clicking sounds coming from somewhere in the engine. This only happened for about 15 minutes on that day and hasn't happened since. Turning the key off and back on did not change anything either. The rest of the time the fuel pump would prime normally and run normally when attempting to start the car. Also, after cranking the engine for a few seconds it begins to sound as though the engine is just rotating and not trying to start at all unless I hold in the gass pedal.

Well, I think that is all the information I can recall about the problem right now. Could the CCRM be the cause of all this or might it be something else as well? I apologize for the length of this post. I would GREATLY appreciate any information that can be given. I really hate not being able to drive the SHO, and what's worse is in the mean time I have to drive a 90 Toyota Camry :frown: . Thanks in advance.

Glad to hear you have a reliable car besides your SHO :D

Have you tried running the codes yet?
Double checked all grounds are tight?
Checked for vacuum leaks?

I keep forgetting to bring the code scanner to work but I'm doing that tomorrow. No Vacuum leaks to my knowledge. Haven't checked the grounds yet. I am just weirded out that this would happen after just sitting for a week and a half.

So you never replaced the ailing CCRM? If not, change it and check the wiring that leads up to it.

I did not change it due to the fact that it was working fine most of the time and I needed to save as much money as possible for my vacation.

I did get a chance to pull the codes at work today and they are as follows...

KOEO Codes-
116 - Coolant temp higher or lower than expected
114 - Intake air temp higher or lower than expected

That's it of those and I am disregarding both of them due to the fact that the car won't start so I couldn't get it up to normal operating temperature.

Now the codes I pulled from the memory-
211 - Profile Ignition Pickup circuit failure
214 - Cylinder Identification circuit failure
542 - Fuel pump secondary circuit failure control module to ground

Now I'm no expert on computer codes so I can't really say what these are pointing to?? Anyone have any information they could impart upon me?
