Need to identify your vehicle. There are differences.

Also need to describe more fully the symptom. Noises, etc, what happens....

I have this same problem. Mine is a 1990 3.0L. I pulled the intake manifold to do some maintaince and put everything back together now it spins real fast but won't catch and run. I thought I had a bad ground but I've triple checked everythig I could think of. There is fuel pressure on the rail and the car ran and drove great prior to doing this so I'm not sure what's up either.

Check that the bolts that hold the crossover tube down are tight. Did you paint or powdercoat your manifold while it was off?

To the original poster-what year is your car? Which trans? Did you do any recent work to it?

no I didnt paint/coat it but Idid install all new gaskets on everything. There may be a small leak somewhere but I won't know unless I pull everything back off again.

Whats up with the crossover tube bolts? Why would that keep the car from starting?

They provide the ground path for the ignition module.

If you cleaned the intake, you've probably washed down the cylinder walls and the engine can't get any compression. The cure for that is to disable the ignition by unplugging the DIS, remove each spark plug, squirt a teaspoon of oil into each, crank the engine for a couple of seconds, then reinstall the plugs wires, and the DIS module. Then try to start it.

This of course, assumes you do have spark which, from your description, cannot be determined.
