car starting problem

ya when i woke up this morning. my car started really quick and then shut down. the check engine light came on and then it wouldnt start back up at all. i tried a couple of times and then it did start but it ran like crap and then shut back down. i waited like 3 min and then tried it again and it did start finally and when i drove it to work and shut it off it did the exact same thing. what do you guys think it is?

I would check you codes. My 93 just did the same thing. It started, ran poor, then shut off. It would crank like crazy, and I had a tach signal.

I scanned it, got the pip signal erratic code. Now it is time to do a crank sensor. And it is my own fault. To save a buck I did not do it, a few thousand miles ago when I did the 120k. I did the pump and timing belt, but no CPS. Shame on me.

I wish I did not love this thing.

Similar thing happened to me the other day. It cranked over fine but didn't want to start. After several tries it started but i had no reading on my RPMs and i had a check engine light. So I shut it down and then it REALLY didn't want to start. I would crank it over and it would **** and cough, and basically sounded totally messed up. It would almost start, but then die. Finally it started and ran ok so I shut it off and tried again. Same problems. I waited a few minutes and then it started fine and has had no problems since. Very weird.
