Hey everyone, I haven't posted in a while. I have an odd problem. I went out to take my daughter to school this morning and car started fine. We stopped by 7-11 and when we get back in I turned the key to start. fuel pump spooled up, lights on but when I turned the key to the start position everything went completely dead. No lights.....nothing. It acted like there wasn't a battery in at all. I recently replaced by alternator, starter and battery and battery connectors. I'm at a complete loss as to what it could be. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I just send it into the shop. The car wasn't even warm when it died. Help.

Sounds like the alt. went bad and stopped charging the battery. Reman. units are known to be of very poor quality. You may need to go through more than one to get one that will perform normally for more than a week or two. Save your receipts.

I'm having it towed in to the Ford dealership right now. I work there so I'm just gonna have them check it out. I'll have them check the alt. I'm wondering if it could be my key switch? It's odd that everything would be fine and then it would all be completely dead?? Thanks for your suggestion.

if the power goes out on the dash its not the ignition switch....i have been messing with the ignition system on my sho for months now and thats not your problem....it sounds like a ground problem or a alt problem

Could simply be the connections at the battery.
The same has happened to me.
I removed then reinstalled the battery cables.
Make sure they are clean, use some dielectric grease and tighten.
Make sure they are tight.

/\ this.. OR at the started. When i did my rod bearings, i obviously had to remove my starter. When it got reinstalled, the nut to the started didn't get tightened tight enough at all so it would do the same thing. All powers good, turn to crank.. nothing. I just tightened all my connections again, including the one to the starter, and she fired right up. Haven't had a problem since.
