After the hail storm a month ago I'm finally getting my car fixed, here is progress. Since I work at the body shop theres a few extra thing getting done but sad to see my car this way
Not to sound stupid, but I have a question for the OP. Did the painter or installer ask about paint drying time before the film was applied? Doesn't new paint require a certain amount of time for chemicals to evaporate and the paint to cure? I've seen where people have pin stripped a new paint job before the paint has cured and when removed the paint has actually came off with the stripe.
I actually work at the Body shop doing the work, usually after 24 hours (and bake cycle) the paint is cured enough to the point where film can be laid. But it also depends on the type of film used. Pin striping is generally a different type of adhesive compared to clear bra adhesive.
You have no idea, I was living that minivan life for almost a month. Thankfully I was able to get around with that rental but its nice to not be in a soccer mom van anymore.
