I lost all ability to shift my Gen1 MTX and the shifter just flops around and doesn't engage the trans at all. I was wondering if this was an in car or under car job. Also, any ideas for a replacement bushing? I got the info on the Mopar clip. Thanks, Steve

This is an in-car job. You'll find that at the base of the shifter, the plastic end of the solid rod that is part of the cable shifter is broken. It is a plastic piece with another plastic insert inside of it.

As a temporary fix, use some rubber bands to pull the rod towards you, so that the shifter will stay in the channel of the rod.
