Steve, how old are you? Why dont you write a mature response for once?

You think it is so out of the question that my car would have ran sub-12.5 et's that it actually makes you laugh?

I ran 12.8 on drag radials and open diff with a 2.1 60ft.

If every .10 off of your 60ft = .20 off your e/t

Dropping down to a 1.8 with cables and MT slicks and a quaife (only to heat both tires)

.3 x .2 = .6

12.8 - .6 = 12.2

The cable mod is a proven method, just not with the SHO. Check the GTP forums and see what they have netted from just using cables. Scott wasnt saying the cables were going to drop me into low 12 e/ts by themselves. Just saying that the improvements we made were getting us closer.

Zach - Do it. What is the point of drag racing? It is to get the fastest time possible, even if its only by a few tenths. Theres a reason why these guys arent running 12's, and its because of these ********* that doubt everything. Be a pioneer.

Im not the OP but I have everything here to do it and have already drilled the holes for the cable mod. I plan on going out next year with a gen3 sf, radials, and some nitrous and hopefully break 12's.

It looks like everyone on NESHO's nuts had to thank the post. Good work guys. Nothing with any info was said yet you thank post's from a member who's opinion is clearly not needed.

A couple people above don't get the point. They'll continue to master the 14 second car...No wonder so many of the people that actually have an opinion worth listening to left or don't post on the forum.

This is why almost every post about moving forward or thinking outside of the box turns into this. Childish minded people that are stuck on the belief that 11's are impossible and anything outside of the box is ********. It's the same people that think a 1.8 out of a front wheel drive car is impossible, yet 2 members on this forum have done it multiple times in there SHO. GTP's pull 1.6 60ft's off.

Here's some proof of the cable mod...9 sec and 11 sec GTP. It can be done...If you can comprehend the idea of a 12.5 pass...

Thats kinda funny you say that since you and SHO AMO talk like you married. But neways...

I don't think its that people don't think its possible or wont happen. But saying your positive a car would do this or run that whatever with it never happening .... just all bench racing ********, especially when the car your talking about is no more. Get that auto of yours together and pioneer the way.

Clearly you took what I said very personal and disregarded 3/4 of my post. Everything you said was pointless. I never said anything about being positive or saying so and so's car would have done this or that. Your just defensive and your emotions are directing your childish response. My original post was helpful. The responses that have followed have been less than helpful and rather typical of a bunch of people on this forum.

I said I was confident; you said positive. If you read like you spell then you should reread again. You misread my friend. You blew your motor up because you had no clue what you were doing. Your bucket build should remain out of this conversation. I think your car needs more fuel next time you try to boost it. Don't be sour.

My car runs great, actually pulled a 99 mph trap speed consistently, n/a btw, last time at the track but hey I didn't care to post. It's been done right, lots of custom stuff, some of which has been duplicated and sold to other forum members and so on. I've pioneered a couple of things, since you brought my car up.

The problem here is that this isn't about bench racing. It's about making way and thinking outside of the box. If someone on the forum has a great idea that might be a little bit 'out of the box' there are just some who continue to think they know everything and shoot the ideas down. That's the exact reason why those people aren't in the 12's. It's the same reason they won't post anything with some substance...

lulz , you dont know anything about my car being 2000 miles away and me not posting everything that goes on with mine. I'm not getting butt hurt about it like you apparently do with what people think. " Don't be sour " :laugh_ti:

I'm not sure how NESHO got involved, but okay. I'm old enough to make a mature response when I want to, and I also don't take the internet seriously.

Its funny to me that you are just making confident claims for track times. If thats the case, I'm confident my GTP (which had the cable mod on it before I purchased it) would run 12.5. But then again, I have no idea, because I've never gone 12.5, so I'm just confident in my assumption. GTPs also cut better 60' times because they have more low end torque.

Regardless, drag racing bores me, and as funny as this thread is, I'm done with it.

Joe,

I'll tell you why I thanked Steve's posts. The first one was exactly what Steve said. You're confident in a 12.5 pass with the cable mod when you never even took it to the strip to try it. That's called bench racing, and Steve simply called it out with a smiley. I saw what he did there, and thanked.

Then, you ASSumed that Steve didn't think the car had 12.5's in it, when he didn't say anything like that (or anything at all). All he was poking fun at was your confidence in a 12.5 when you never even tried the mod. You got all pissy about something you dreamed up in your head, so Steve posted another smiley, and I thanked it again, because now it was getting funny. If YOU could act like an adult without putting things in other people's mouths, then this shitshow wouldn't have happened.

You seem to think that everyone has something against you or doesn't believe you. Paranoia or something. Your posts are often combative when they don't need to be, and you come off like an ******* because of it. I'm not saying you are. I don't know you enough to make that call. I'm just saying relax.

As for the NESHO comments...

But seriously, stop trying to start SHO club warfare or whatever it is you're trying to do. There's no need to lump a group together and attack them. Bob and I both saw the humor in those posts, so we both thanked them. That's it. By calling out an entire club, all you're doing is inviting more drama, which you seem to live for.

My name is Scott btw.

You could have wrote something as productive as your statements above about 10 posts ago...Hence the response you got from 2 of us. When I said it was typical of some on here I meant it and that doesn't change now just because you explained yourself. It's still childish. It took me being straight up and saying it how it is to get a productive response.

Then, you ASSumed that Steve didn't think the car had 12.5's in it, when he didn't say anything like that (or anything at all). All he was poking fun at was your confidence in a 12.5 when you never even tried the mod. I don't need to give you a hypothetical situation to get you to see why the responses from steve gave me the impression that he thought 12.5's and lower weren't possible. I said confident. That is an opinion. Your free to add yours, the point is you didn't. It came across like you were just piggybacking on steve's lame response. Which he clearly only states a mature one when he feels like it...Lame. That is my point.

I'm old enough to make a mature response when I want to, and I also don't take the internet seriously.

First off, if you don't care about drag racing why even post anything? Exactly my point. You just wanted to create an argument, clearly. You shouldn't have said anything. That's a cop-out.

The difference here is that whether we were having this conversation in person or not, nothing I said would change. I would say the exact things I said before. The problem lies in the fact that you rarely have a productive response. You normally just make comments to shoot someone's idea, or what have you, down. He's obviously fine with it just as I'm fine with saying things how they are. Straight-forward.

If the newspapers had clips of shoforum rants instead of political cartoons I might just read it.

Or just a newspaper dedicated to your posts.

///////////////

Now, I don't want to hear that GTP's get better 60' times because they have more torque. Cobalt SS's, SRT-4's and other front wheel drive cars are able to pull it off too...Not a good reason.

Sorry, not sure where I got Joe from.

As for me not saying anything earlier, I didn't realize it was a big enough deal that it required an explanation. There's nothing childish about thanking a post. You could be 100% correct about the car. That's not the point, which is why I didn't give my opinion on the subject. All Steve did was poke a little fun at the bench racing aspect and you took it personally. If there was anything childish going on, I think it started with you getting upset over a smiley face.

I asked him first what he meant by the smiley face. I didn't jump to any conclusions. I asked first.

It's not about being a big enough deal. It's about making a response when it's going to be intelligent or helpful. A smiley face and comment about the possibility of a car running something, when spoken about hypothetically, is the easiest way to get an argument; especially considering the source. My comment wasn't about how fast the car was, but how well I thought the cable mod worked.
