Hello out there,
I have a question about the rev limiter. I have a 1990 with MTX of course and i understand that we have a rev limiter around 7200 RPM's, but when I "experiment" and rev up...the needle will go well past, into the redline and hit 8 G's. When I am, per say, in the process of rapid acceleration, there is no rev limiter to stop me from shifting at 7500-7800 RPM's, and sometimes this makes me nervous because i don't even know it's up there. I drive my buddy's WRX and I hit the rev limiter in first quite often and that gives me the assurance that the engine and driveline is protected, but in the SHO I am not hitting any rev limiter. Has this happened to anyone else and is there a problem? Thank you for your time.
