I have had my '89 for 2 years now and have managed to put about 30k on her in that time. I have broke 2 halfshafts (both at the joint on the driver's side). I have been to the track a couple of times and some street racing, but never abused the car. Both times there was no warning (the infamous clicking) or anything, just pop. This last one I installed I used the Redline line CV-22 I think its called. I have had no problems yet and I am coming up on the annual anniversary of the last breakage. Obviously this will not make the joint stronger, but I was hoping to cut down on heat friction, etc. There is a question I pose though. Can weak mounts (f. &r. motor, tranny) cause more stress on the halfshaft causing premature breakage? Let me know all of your thoughts on it.
