broke mtx

i bought my sho from a freind who blew 3rd and 4th gear together and when i drove it home 1st and reverse went. what would make the gear blow in pairs. and on a scale of 1 t0 ten how hard is the tranny to do? and is there any thing in particular to watch out for.

My two cents, if you are asking how hard it is to rebuild a MTX, then I would not suggest trying it yourself. There are several available from parted SHOs to swap in. Which is a much easier process.

I would have to say that the tranny would be a 9 or 10. You have to drop out the subframe in order to do it. If you had the "know how" could be done in under a day's work. are you looking for a tranny?? email me if you are.
