Ok ive done some searching and still cant find this. My brake lights are not working! so I checked the BOO switch and it wasnt connected. So I plugged it back in and now they stay on all the time. When I bought the car there was a brake switch box in the car in the back seat and the atx shifter is broken. So im guessing the previous owner had the same problem. It also leads me to belive this is a new BOO switch because I found the box in the backseat. What do I check next? buy another switch and check? Mfs? wiring??? please help...

Those switches are so touchy I wonder why they work as long as they do. I've had to wiggle one before when I installed a new one, because it was doing the same thing. Just enough wiggling should do it, or I'd guess that switch is bad. Find one at a J/Y and test it before you leave. :)

i had a similar problem when i bought my 89'. I put on a brand new switch, didnt help at all, it was the 2 wire plug that goes to the switch. Cut one out of a junk SHO, and crimmped it on mine, works fine now. should be the same in a SLO.
