Well, I am happy to report, while performing an oil change on my SHO this morning, that contrary to what I was told, I decided to try and replace my large under belly pan, and much to my delight, it fit!

So not sure I was told it wouldn't fit (following the install of my catless down pipes), but am thankful that it does.

Just wanted to put that out there.

I thought they dropped testing in IL? When I lived there in the early-mid 90s I had to have it done, but I thought they dropped it after I moved out.

They dropped testing for pre OBD II vehicles. My 89 no longer needs to get tested. All they do is plug into the OBDII port, no more dyno roller testing and monitoring the exhaust gases. You 2010 SHO will need to get tested in 2016 for the first time.

Not sure there shaker......

Kind of the exact reason why I've retained my stock set up.

I guess I'll find out come that 1st test. If I gotta throw back on the OEM set up, then I will.

Minor inconvenience in the overall grand scheme of things.

So, ummm..... yea :munch:
From the testing website:

Q. How often will my vehicle need to be tested?

A. Vehicles begin testing when the vehicle is four years old. For example, a 2003 car should be tested in 2007, 2009, 2011, etc. In certain cases, a vehicle may need to be inspected if it was not in compliance when acquired by a new owner, or when the vehicle is newly registered in a test area.

It took exactly 4 years for them to call my 08 GT500 in for testing. What surprised me was they did not just check for stored codes. They read all indicators to see if they are responding via the OBD-II port. I then connected it to an Innova 3130 and shonuff, it gave me the exact same (3) emission readiness indicators:
Cat Conv Eff - not ready
Heated Oxygen Sensor - Not Ready
Oxygen Sensor - Not Ready

Technically, it was not a failure, but they told me if it happened 3 times, I would be required to take it to a shop. Plus, the Sec of State sent back my registration application for a new plate sticker because they knew I had not passed emissions!

As long as you kept the catted down pipe and have a tune with the rear O2s turned on you should be good to go. I only mentioned it because a lot of folks do not know they check that all your O2s are functioning and there is no way to beat the system without cats.

They worked fine for me just now. I clicked on the YouTube symbol at bottom right of each video to go directly to the YT page.
