Love me some forged JE slugs.
I think JE is a fine piston. I've used just about everyone over the years for forged slugs. I really, really like Arias for higher revs, but you probably aren't going to have to worry about that. I've had CP and recently got a set of Wisecos for a different motor build. The only time I used JE pistons they came with the wrong rings. No biggie, they sent the right ones out. Yours look good. Can't wait to see the numbers you put up.

Received these pics and info from machine shop today. Factory/OEM on the left. Upgraded on the right.

"The new valve springs have arrived with a seat pressure of 67 ftlbs and open pressure of 140 ftlbs. Factory spring pressure was 51 ftlbs seat and 95 ftlbs open. The added spring pressure is too aid in the added boost pressure on the back side of the valve's and also for the slight added weight with the oversized valves. Too guarantee it will never have valve float." ----shop owner8b85d0419ddf43ff10ae74816c026cc0D6b5f32377d96f6bc70b9a8bb4a235f2

I count my blessings for sure, and completely agree with you.

As I stated previously, as the build continues to progress, and the shop owner immerses himself further into the nuances of it, one can visibly observe his enthusiasm increasing.

As much as it may be work doing the research and crunching the data, he does genuinely seem interested in propelling the platform forward.

As evidenced by the new product offerings that are being released.

Truly exciting to say the least.

Recv'd some pics from the engine builder/machine shop owner today.

Block has been milled/polished and have been told that the short block portion of the re-assembly should be on track to begin by week's end, or by next week sometime.

Couple of pics of that, as well as a little something something lurking inside that cardboard container.

As Brad Pitt exclaimed toward's the end of the movie SEVEN that he starred in.....

Put the METH pipe down sir!!

Ha! Never my friend. Never.

Always funny when I go to re-up my meth supply.

Funny in the aspect that my local speed shop, which is located a mere 2 blocks from the County courthouse, that whenever I finish testifying in a case, I'll leave there and pitstop at the speed shop.

Walk in, still dressed in full clown gear, and since everyone there at the speed shop knows me well, I exclaim out loud that I'm there to re-up my meth.

The customers also present at the time look around to see who's making so much noise and what not, then they see it's me, and some are in disbelief, some just laugh.

Either way, the reactions are worth the price of admission. Ha!

Hi Mike,

Your Thread is awesome and super impressed with the work. The exhaust manifold is great and what I wanted to do, but well I chickened out of from some advice of a constituent and the reversion on the ecoboost engines, and therefore I modified mine some but left alot on the table.

For the cams, the only option is needing a custom cam or the cam from the GT for the cam with the fuel pump cam. The original doesnt have enough meat for the changes desired for the work. I was suspposed to get a GT core last fall but failed to follow up with my guy when the program ended to get a blank cam.

Gonna go to a TNT this Friday and change the tire pressures like you guys suggested to see the 60' changes. If that does enough then I'll go for the GH intercooler, and another intermediate media cooler if I can design it with the limited space in there.

You da man Mike!

@KR..... Thanks my friend! Not to concerned at this point with the availability of a cam, or not. But the info's appreciated. Good luck at TNT!

I haven't had much seat time with my IC from GH, as the one and only time I drove with it installed in my SHO, was when I drove it very gingerly up to LMS on a temporary tune file written for me by their company's owner. Which then only came back from their facility on a tow truck, after it blew up on their time. I am looking forward to its use however moving forward, once my whip gets back up and running once again. Others have reported really good results with it.

Speaking of my SHO.......

03/03/2020......

Pistons have returned from company that performed the coating(s) on them. Looks sharp.

And for those wondering what was in the boxxxxxxx from Pro-Meth. Yes! A multiport/direct port kit from them.

My engine builder has begun the necessary work on milling, welding bungs on, and also bending supply lines. Off to the PC'er for powder coat/thermal coating, then to finish up on that next.

Slowly, but surely. Progress is always great progress. No matter how large, or small.

Hope everyone's doing well. Spring is in it's way! Woo Hoo!5b7069e2fccb17f6d953b59900e33141932596708279fbf550cf468bb0d62f45C0783d28b34fd8e82133eec1deead355
