well i finally got a chance to inspect my sho after the diff pin let go after the last tri-state meet. Turns out the diff pin is still inside the case and possible the differential itself. It made a 1/4 hole along the lenth of the rear of the oil pan and front of the tranny were the 2 meet. I can see some weird metal hanging in the hole but do signs of the pins. There is no other exit points or damaged points on the tranny other than the hole. All the fluid is no out of the tranny and the car still moves. So my question is could the diff pin just have slid out a bit and cracked the case and then remained in the diff? I will get pics as soon as i get my camera back. Trans should be out this weekend into beth's hands for a full tear down.

one of the pins could have been thrown out, and another may have torn the inside of your case up. I've seen that happen a few times (not to my cars though)

My 92's original trans had lost 1st gear because one of the short pinion shafts became lodged in front of the shift shaft. I found the other one under the final drive gear. This all happened before I picked it up.
