My heater refuses to shut off even though it reads "off" on the display. After reading a few threads on this board, it seems like the BCM module is the cause of the problem.

Now. Will a normal Tauras BCM work on my SHO?

Because I know that being a SHO any auto parts store will want thousands of dollars for a new one, when I know auto wreckers are filled with old bunk Tauras wagons.....cheap is the way to go right?

thanks guys

ok thanks man.

Now another question, what the **** does it look like?

I popped out my glove box to be greeted with millions of miscellaneous wires and such.

I have a suspicion it is the little black box about 2" X 4" on top of what looks like the vent??

It has a long serial number on it, and one bolt (I think, it is dark out there!)

am I on the right track or should I start ripping out random things?

hahah!
yeah like thats a good idea!

help appreciated!

It's right behind the glovebox, mounted into the bottom of the blower motor housing, with a harness and a vent hose connected to it. There's a long white label on it that says "variable blower control module" in the first sentence.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure this module will only be in Tauruses & Sables that have ATC (auto. temp. control). If the car has knobs, it won't have the module.
