Not really. I guess there just wasnt enough demand to make an SC kit for the SHO the right way, enough for someone to get up and do it.

The FPS kit seems to be good. Are those kits selling? I never hear any kind of feedback on them. Ive yet to see one person local or online running one. It seems to me that theres a small (but still a decent amount) amount of people spending money... So wheres all these boosted SHO's?

Aye Captain!

Also another being built at NTP as we speak. Maybe the first Mocha/Mocha SC SHO out there.

my feelings are hurt that I keep beating these GTPs.

Sorry it isn't fair picking on cars with knives coming to a gunfight with my SHO.
Not sure what you're trying to accomplish other than being an ass. You seem to have brought an M1A1 to that fight. ;)

Back in the day there was, when people were willing to spend the money for it. The problem is the wrong vendor filled that void in the market and people just assumed the kits were good.

I can probably tell you who Doug's customers are. They are middle aged men who love the car and have some money to spare. They're not handing over a blank check but they also don't have a strict budget to stick to.

And then there is the younger market that probably accounts for a good 85% of the SHO's owner demographics. The young guys have the money but they don't have it all at once and they certainly don't want to save it. Johnny B Doe Jr would rather spend his whole paycheck and get one mod every paycheck than save for awhile and buy a whole supercharger kit.

Even at that, supercharging the manual transmission SHO right now is a losing proposition. If you put the power down the transmission will fail. The solution to that problem is almost as much as the supercharger kit itself...

awww sorry. I was just giving a GTP owner some gentle ribbing. Its standard proceedure.

Transmission issue so far has been addressed to hold over 600hp and 490lbs of torque.

As was I. Apparently forums don't convey sarcasm that well. :)

For how much and for how long have they been tested?

The tranny has lasted close to a year before the motor ran lean. Also Tony doesn't baby El Toro either.

Then El Toro ran out of injectors/fuel with a boost change. Kaboom (motor that is.) Now he is going with bigger injectors and SHONuts upgraded FPR kit with bigger lines. He will be ready for even more boost!!!

Don't forget about the Mocha/Mocha SC SHO that was in Austin. That was a clean SHO!

What's the cost of this tranny solution? Is it Josh's? How many miles has it lasted?

$100...shot peening, quite a few members have done this now.

That doesn't prevent the shaft from flexing which is the inherent design flaw. I hope that's not considered a long term viable solution. :(

yeah I always heard of this shaft flex talk.....?????

but real world is Mr. Tony was pushing mega horsepower/torque and doesn't baby El Toro. Surprisingly the tranny has held for close to year with daily beating.

How many miles? MY last trans lasted 13k miles (cryo) before it failed. Also, since every trans we put in is already used, I wonder how much (if any) effect that has on the outcome. Obviously though, since he is making more power than ever, and the shot peened gears have lasted longer than ever, it seems he is on to something.

Interesting that you mention 600hp and 490ft lbs. Has this number been verified by dyno results? Come on Murph, as Tony' #1 favorite butt to kick, I deserve to know the truth!!

lotsa miles as Tony uses El Toro as a daily. dunno...I'll ask Tony how many tomorrow.

sorry Tim I was sworn to secretcy (sp?) Dyno sheet is locked away at his house. However he is having to reinforce a new subframe as he has tweaked the old one.

It's okay, as I am sure he will tell me after I beat him! (Murph and Tony simultaneously "So I guess we will never have to tell you then, eh!!)

However he is having to reinforce a new subframe as he has tweaked the old one.

SWEET!

sure sure Mr. Tim. I can't wait to be able to give you the same grief Tony has been given ya!! ahhaahaha Then there will be two of us!!

yeah the damn thing doesn't lay flat. Tony thought his tire wear was odd and previously checked everything. Now we know.

Yes superchargers do produced torque too.

I need T trim though :(

Just send your S-Trim to Vortech to be upgraded. You should have enough money if you sale like the spare tire to your Viper. :p
