gots meez a water to air intercooler.
All cool!

shit warranty
shit fitment
shit quality control
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY is that theuir impellers were designed by screwing ray charles .... the impellers / housings are HORRIBLY innefective
if you were to take a car, say a late 90's LS1 camaro, buy a supercharge kit from powerdyne, paxton AND vortech, and install the kits one at a time
(ie, install powerdyne - dyno - remove --install paxton - dyno - remove ....)
gues which kit puts down the WORST numbers .... BY FAR ...
yup .... the Powerdyne!
and oh yea, read some powerdyne reviews : http://www.carreview.com/cat/parts/...rgers/Powerdyne/PRD_2186_2877crx.aspx#reviews
ah well yeah that would helpSHOMurph said:gots meez a water to air intercooler.

powerdyne=THE CHEAPEST blower. but if you get one and want it to last keep the boost to 6psi.DHMag said:ive been looking for a cheap supercharger unit to install on my late 70s smallblock Chevy....

You need to give me a call buddy SHOMurph said:Dale we need to throw a big ol' "poking thru the hood" roots on that bad boy!!!
Then we'll get you about 20 sets of head gaskets!!!
VRROOOMMM!!!
That has to be the most ******** thing I've ever heard. Does Vadim know anything about adiabatic efficiency, parasitic loss, timing even? Think of the three major things going against the SS kits:They specifically used smaller filters to limit boost / airflow up higher for the "9psi / 12psi" kits. They also used to ship a reducer piece (have one in the junk pile). The theory was, use a 15psi pulley to spin up faster, put a reducer to limit airflow up high. Problem with the PD is using the smaller pulley is still overspinning the blower.
Mike Kopstain said:That has to be the most ******** thing I've ever heard. Does Vadim know anything about adiabatic efficiency, parasitic loss, timing even? Think of the three major things going against the SS kits:
1. Adiabatic efficiency - Overspun blower is basically just a hot air pump and most kits weren't intercooled. Not only that but restricting it causes even more friction and more heat!
2. Parasitic loss - Overspinning the blower means the engine is working harder than it has to and putting un-needed additional stress on the motor.
3. Added timing - Yes, that's right folks, let's add timing when we put a supercharger on.
It's amazing the engines lasted as long as they did. I get sick when I hear the oldies saying how Vadim pioneered the way for these cars. If his products are any indication of his competence he didn't know his head from a hole in ground.
As much as I disagree with Doug Lewis about everything at least he has the knowledge not to do ******** stuff like the above.
Uggghhh. These cars could have been so much faster in their hey-day if it weren't for people putting their trust in the wrong vendor...
Hindsight... 20/20
That's only one of the limitations of the kit though. Even the Vortech superchargers were spitting out significantly hotter air than necessary because of the "boost limiting" measure.Maybe the PD were overspun, but not the Vortechs. But ya, the smaller filter were used to limit airfow.

There is a choice. Educate yourself and understand what you're installing on your vehicle. Its not like SHO owners had much of a choice.. If Im not mistaken, It was custom, or SHOshop.. Who else sold SC kits back then? You?

By the time we got into the game the market would not bear a $4000 supercharger kit any longer.not trying to nitpick.. just understand. How come Midwest SHO didnt correct the problems that SS made then? Not worth it?
Sorry, I wasn't trying to get personal. I hope it didn't come of that way.As far as educating MYself, for MY car.. hey.. I try. (obviously not for the vendors to sell stuff for people that want a direct bolt in) In the GTP world you must know a few of those guys..
The SHO community is past that point market-wise.I know a few, but those are the guys who dont want to give away their ideas in fear of someone actually capitolizing on them, and not wasting them.
Your what hurts?I installed a GTP Killer!!!
