I have oil leaking from my crank, I think? :hpoop: theres oil every were under the car and im guessing thats were its coming from its missing a timing cover bolt and the cover touches the balancer pully. Is that a reason for the leak and what do i need to fix the leak? It leaks most when reved at high rpms!

The timing cover holds no oil in it, and makes no difference with an oil leak problem. However, you should get a new bolt in there to hold it down. The possibilities for oil leaks are (from top to bottom): Valve cover gaskets, cam seals, oil pressure sensor, front main, rear main, oil pan, and oil level sender, and the drain plug. Many possibilities as you can see. The best way to find out what it is is to clean up the oil, run the motor and get under it to see where the oil is coming from. If the seals are all original it might be a combination of all of them.

If you can, add some flourescing dye to the oil...it does no harm and will allow you to see where the leak is coming from eaiser. You will need a black light, or bulb for your trouble light to see it though.
