yo sorry fot teh title I couldnt think of anything. Well I looked today and my belt that runs my ac and whatnot(the farthest belt back)is cracked really really badly Im putting off the tranny fluid swap because I think this belt could go at anytime. Is this something that a relativley mechanically inept person could do? I have a few tools and could borrow some and I know the principle behind the tensioners and stuff I also know how to follow the diagram for re routing the belt but is tjere anything else im overlooking here
ps. what is the part number for these belts?

The belt is a piece of cake. If you understand how the tensioner pulley works, that's more than half the battle.

I can't remember the belt number, but you can get it just by knowing the number of "grooves" and the length (inches). I believe if you get the "correct" part number it will be a 6-groove, 44.5" long. I'm not sure what year SHO you have, but some people have had to go with the 45.5" belt.

A popular choice is the Gatorback from AutoZone. 60445 or 60455 should be the numbers.

Mustangdude,

Rather than assume you have one long serpentine belt, rather than two shorter serpentine belts, please tell us what year your SHO is. the proceedure is very different for removing and replacing the belts. rangerj

PS. It is an easy job, but if you are not careful you could split your eyebrow open and need 5 stitches! Hi T. (This is a private joke mustangdude, so just ignor it)
