Ok I have a problem with my car and I was wondering uif you guys could guestimate whats wrong with it, its a shot in the dark. Anyways, my sister had the car and drove it into a very flooded street and it stalled out in the middle and she had it towed after about 10 mins to my house...anyways, it runs and drives alright, but it has a ticking sound from the engine, and the higher the rpm's, the faster the ticking sound. Someone told me the bearings and someone told me maybe a bent rod...I was wondering what you guys thought...thanks a lot. Takin the car in Monday...

Oil in the spark plug wells is caused by leaking plug well seals, (no, it's not supposed to be like that), and if you have that problem then the car is probably due for a full 60K service. As for the ticking, did water actually get sucked into the engine?

If they said it was a bent push rod, dont ask that person for help any more. This is an over head cam engine, not a push rod engine. How flodded was the street? How far up the engine was it? If it was enough for the intake to take in water never let your sister drive your car again. There shouldnt be oil in the spark plug wells, DO NOT let oil in there or fall in the engine if you change your spark plugs, it casue damage to your engine.

If it is a ticking sound then your valves need adjusting. You should get a shim kit and do it. WHile you are down there replace your valve cover seals to fix your leaks into the plug wells. Though if valves all of a sudden went out of speck and you did take in water you may have other problems.
