I picked up some cheap bbb's a little while ago that i wanted to install within the next week. I didnt notice before but the plates that are installed dont seal very well, there is about a 1-2 mm gap on the top and bottom of the plates. Is this going to be a problem at all?

Just make sure they dont bind, besides that a little leak-by wont make much of a differance.

any leakage reduces the 'secondaries effect'. If you do not bore out the secondary runner that mates with the BBB, your wasting your time & $$ installing them. If you also remove the horns you must radius the 45mm hole in the tank & open up the BBB inlet to match or your just adding more turbulence from the uneven diameters meeting.

The butterflies are open when the secondaries are active so the leakage only affects the low-rpm performance of the primaries. The small amount of leakage around the butterflies will have negligible effect on that.

I think what he meant is that with a leak, the jump when the secondaries open will be less, because of the leaked airflow.

Since the butterflies are just open in both cases >4k rpm (so there'd be no difference), that would suggest that the car is making more power with the leaky butterflies when they're closed just before the opening point. I'd think that would be a good thing.
