When you swap tunes, do you go back to stock in between each tune?

I always have, but I am not sure if it is a wasted step or not.

I was running the 91 oct. stage 3, and went back to the 93 oct. Stage 3 last night, and it just got me thinking .. do I need to spend that extra 15 minutes going back to stock or not?

I don't know if you have to go back to stock first, but I do. What can I say, I am an IT guy, better safe than sorry...seen too many things go wrong in the electronic/IT world.

You don't need to. You can switch within tunes how many times you want. I personnaly don't switck that often, but I only put it back to stock when I go to the dealer and right after the service is finished (I mean right after in their parking! lol), I put it back to stage 4+ or whatever tune I am running. IF not, I tend to keep it always to the most performant tune, but the other day, after the track night, I needed to go back to stock because I couldn't find better than octane 91 and I was running stage 4+... But going back to stock when changing tunes is an unnecessary step and a waste of time... I have that SCT device since my Ford Fusion 2009, so 2 years of experience and never had any issue doing so.

As others have mentioned, there is no need to go back to stock when switching between different stages.
