We have this 89 SHO 3litre we bought knowing it didnt run. It turns over real strong, but it just doesnt start. we found it had no spark. So we replaced the ignition control module and the crankshaft sensor. Now we have spark but it wouldnt start still. We thought maybe its not getting gas. Well my dad put his face right down by the throttle body and had me crank it over. it shot a huge flame out the throttle body so we know its firing but the timing is off i think. Needless to say it still doesnt run so Im thinking of resetting the timing, which if im reading the book (chiltons) correctly says basically all i have to do is line up the marks on the crankshaft vibration damper with the 0degree mark, and the index marks on the camshaft sprockets should line up with the index marks on the metal timing belt cover. It seems to simple or good to be true that after all the time and money it could be fxed so simply, any other ideas on what it could be or how i should adjust the timing?
