Well, the Shop Hog is back on the road again. This time it wanted a pully bearing, timming belt and timming kit, powersteering belt and so on. I have to admit, for the first time in a long time I can hear my exhaust over the motor. heres a pic of the timming belt. I really cant say why it ran so long in that bad of shape but it did. There was an eight inch bald spot on the belt

When I bought the car last May, the person I bought it from said that the timming belt, water pump, ect, ect was just replaced. I beleived him :bonk: :bonk: So when I took the car to Keven at Protech automotive I had him replace, fix or adjust just about everything but the Timming belt. My motor was loud but I thought that was the way it should be. It came with the air box and fender air horn removed. Anyway, I was wrong and my car sounds and runs great now. I really cant believe the difference. I just thought I had a SLO SHO. My car is at least 40% faster and much more responsive. Thing is I never had a Check engine light that would point toward the timming belt. The car just ran loud.

The mechanic nailed my timming belt to his Shop hall. He said I was damn lucky! For now I have a low winning sound comming from behind the timming belt cover The mechanic said that will go away. He said it was caused by the bad spot on the old tining belt acting like sand paper on the sprockets.
