AX4S/AX4N difference?

Is there any reason you can't put an AX4N into a Gen 2 SHO? I know that theoretically, non-synchronous trannies are better than synchronous trannies due to the fact that fewer parts are moving when you shift gears. I suppose the computer might wig out but is there any way around that? Maybe not, but I was just curious... thanks in advance for any insight!

Simple reason, the bellhousing bolt patterns are completely different.
