Did autozone up their prices and lower their warranty on rotors? I got the performance friction carbon metallic pads for $29 (lifetime warranty) and the valucraft discs for the front in my 93 and they were 3 month warranty and cost $20 a peice. The Aimco ones were $30 a peice and also only 3 month warranty. Is my autozone screwing me?

Thanks,
Jason

Maybe Autozone has been losing too much money with Scott Patterson always turning in his rotors for lifetime warranty replacement! :p

AutoZone went to the shorter warranty within the last few months. Still one of the cheapest options out there, even if you've gotta buy new rotors every couple of years...

Maybe. I have found my local 'Zones to offer only a 3 month warranty on the rotors now too.

I'm glad I have my Napa United rotors. They have a lifetime warranty, and I wouldn't think they could change the warranty on stuff that's already been purchased. thumb

On a side note, I've been very impressed with the Napa rotors and the Performance Friction pads. Hopefully I'll find out today about a job I interviewed for (looks good), and then I'll get some cash to fix my clutch and get my abs system bled at the dealer! :D

Guys,

With few exceptions for the specialty rotors, all of the aftermarket rotors are being made by the same guy in CHINA (more or less).

I do not care what distributors name is on the box, e.g. NAPA, Auto Zone, etc. All the boxes say, "Made in China". NAFTA, Bovine Excrement! shrug rangerj

gotta love how NAFTA - North American Free Trade Agreement has us buying chinese rotors.....

and for what its worth.... rangerj is very correct.... o'reilly carries two lines of rotors... the botom line which is called standard brake is made in china and is priced accordingly.... we also carry a line called brakebest...which is actually made in USA steel, which unfortunately ALSO is priced accordingly...

1 year warranty versus lifetime warranty....

Louis,
ive personally dealt with Standard Brake and Brakebest, though not on my vehicles, and id have to say the quality is the same. O'Reillys is becoming my best friend for parts since im nearly tired of A-Zs ********. hey, im willing to pay a higher price for better service and English speaking Americans.

the brakebest rotors (by the way) are actually wagner rotors...
