Much better. Organized mostly everything hooked up. Have a section of harness coming today for a couple sensors that were messed up on the donor car. That and a replacement coolant tank that I destroyed which is now replaced with a $47 Amazon one. Waiting on a grounding kit so I can technically have the grounds on the harness going to something then it's attempting to fire it up!

Kinda sad what looks like a pallet of scrap is what consists of an “engine” nowadays.

Worlds 3rd least slowest Ecoboost SHO
It’s crazy how many wires, vacuum tubes, sensors etc these modern engines have. I remember looking under the of my 21 6.7L f250 and you couldn’t tell the difference and you can’t even see the engine .
With the emissions stuff being reduced this year I wonder if it will clean up the modern engine bay?

We had a ton of snow and extreme cold weather. Engine is coming out of the taurus soon and it's going to be gutted down to almost bare metal and sent over to the spot where we will be fabricating it next. Engine out by this weekend, but there is also another person in my shop right now using the space so I haven't been really trying to mess with it. Here pretty soon though we will be back at it!

Update: Engine should be sold off this weekend. Assuming it actually gets picked up. Got a set of temporary mustang wheels as I sold the welds off. After the engine and trans comes out it's going to get pushed outside and the rest of the oem wiring and left over bits getting removed. No more dual methanol kits, no more boost a pump, no more nothing left in the car that isn't structural. This is where the fun will begin.

Progress! Pulled the engine for it to go to it's new home! Trans is next. Only two bolts and that thing is out. My shop is a couple weeks from being more manageable from another project taking up some room! I'm not going to lie parting out the previous build for this one has been pretty profitable lol.
Still have the single turbo kit on the shelf. If nobody takes it I might use some of the pieces on the 3.0 swap. Heard someone took this exact engine and trans combo to 10.06 with stock turbos. Pretty neat to see the potential.

Engine and trans out. Spent a little time organizing up the shop. Next step is to completely gut the taurus of anything that doesn't help it move. Dash, wiring and all needs to come out. Stuff was all over the top of the car and now we've got almost a clean slate.

Upgrade time. Been cramped in my little Yukon box for too long. Even used the pallet to put the explorer drivetrain on more safely and got the taurus back on all 4 moving dolleys.

Another little step closer. All the wiring is out of the engine bay to be replaced by the explorer wiring. Working my way into the interior now. Just methanol tanks and the accessory harness left. Cars going to be chassis, brakes, front and rear subframe next phase until it's moved to another shop where we are going to lob off the front and make them one again lol

he spends so much time documenting, amen... but yes he is putting up a guy wire, trampoline, jibs, railcams, gimbals, and robocam/pzts.

We've hit the next step! As far as you see I've at a stand still at what I can do in my shop. Next steps are :
1) Explorer shell is getting the trans tunnel plasma cut out and scrap the rest.
2) bring the taurus and explorer subframe to the next shop for the fabrication after the explorer gets tossed. Need to swap the 8.8 mustang rear subframe into the taurus and remove the gas tank as well
3) cut the front end off the taurus and line up everything to be fabricated.
4) is bolting in the engine and trans to make sure it physically fits
5) will be the Driveshaft and getting it to run part.
