When I floor my wagon (94 SHO cradle, drivetrain, and computer), it hits the rev limiter twice in rapid succession before shifting to second. By the tach (factory cluster from same 94 SHO), it is cutting out at about 6800 RPMs...which is low. Cam and Crank sensor are both new due to other issues...but did nothing to change the problem. Any ideas?

Neil, I believe that is the factory revlimiter/shift point for the ATX.

I'm also thinking the trans may be shifting too slowly.

Are you getting any codes?

No codes. Tranny fluid was very clean when I did the swap (changed out at that time...and is still very clean). Shift is crisp and hard in all gears...its like at WOT it wants a few more RPM's before shifting. Even a hair off WOT and it shifts perfectly...as in no "stumble". If it wasn't computer controlled, I'd be thinking governor, but, as it sits, I dunno. Engine and tranny with 72Kish, and appeared to be unmolested at the time of the swap.

Held my 95 ATX in 1st gear to redline. It made it to just under 7,000 RPM, I would say it was around 6800 or 6900, wasn't quite on the 7 red.

As for the shifting, maybe it's just because of the extra weight from the sedan to the wagon?

Is the sedan heavier? That might be it... I think I'll just have to get a TwEECer and bump up the shut off to, say, 7200 rpm. I'm pretty sure that will fix the problem. Its just very odd...

Yea, that might work. But with all the reading I've seen about moving the rev limiter, if you take it any higher than stock, you need an underdrive pulley, or risk yanking parts off of the belt accessories.
And I was thinking the wagon is heavier than the sedan, due to the extra mass of the back.
