Just wondering if anyone has accidentally jumped in the pool with there keyfob in their pocket. When I was on vacation last week, I forgot I had my Ford Fusion rental car keyfob in my pocket. I was in there for 10 minutes at least before I realized I had the key in my pocket. I assumed the worst but lo and behold the keyfob worked fine. Must be water proof. Just wondering if the Taurus fob is equally water proof.

I would not say waterproof but certainly more resistant than most electronics. One of mine spent some time in the ocean (in my pocket, forgot) it worked, I got home took battery out and gave it a fresh water and alcohol bath, dried it and battery back and never missed a beat over the last year

Even if they short out there is a Passive AntiTheft System (PATS) transceiver that does not need batter power to work. The fob just has to be put in the backup slot. This may still work after the fob is dead.

I'm NOT going to be the one to try this or prove it out.
