No, but you might want to buy 2 bolts, and 2 "clips" just in case.. ;) They like to break.

Another thing.. make sure you have a new gasket for the tank. The old rubber gasket will be too large to reuse. They soak up gas like something crazy.

If you have those 2 things, you should be ok. A 5/16 nut driver isn't a bad idea either for removing the straps on the filler neck... and if those are too hard to reach.. take out the 3 bolts behind the filler door.. you can drop it down a little farther so its easier to get to.

Have fun.. and don't smoke or use a torch.. ;)

I think that if you buy a fuel pump in a kit, the O-ring comes with the pump... At least I think mine did. I removed the tank for the first replacment, but have since cut an access door and it has made things much easier.

Messing with the fuel pump bolts, I would make sure you have everything you need. I also would plan on breaking the bolts, as I'm sure they haven't been replaced since new

sorry to resurrect this thread, but i'm gonna be slicing a hole in the floor and replacing my fuel pump on sunday with a 'reclaimed' unit i'll be acquiring from Tom. is the gasket/o-ring one of those things i can buy separately? i dont really expect Tom to carry one in stock (but i've been surprised a number of times before with the stuff Tom has sometimes.)

2 things you can do. Buy a "lock ring" kit from Advance... I would imagine AZ would have it too. Comes with the ring, and the o ring.

Or another neat trick you can do... is slice it with a razor... twice to make it a little smaller and superglue it so its the right size. :) And yes it does work, and holds better than the gasket itself. Twist it, then cut it with a razor. As long as its a straight cut, the glue will hold longer than the rubber will. I lost a bet over that... trust me it works.. lol

yeah, looks like as long as i dont get sloppy with my cut off wheel this should go really smoothly without access to a lift or a jack or jackstands...

The gasket comes WITH any of these Spectra premium products.

-the tank itself
-the locking ring (part number is Lo2 if I recall)
-the sender unit
