It took me a bit of time to figure out the issue. Some folks have been pulling fuses and looking for problems with the USB/Sync system (or so I have read).

Turns out it is the iPhone 4. When you plug it in to USB and then it connects via Bluetooth, it switches the phone to "Sync".

If you go to the iPod app on the phone and touch the little arrow at the bottom, it will give you a menu that allows you to select "Dock" instead of "Sync" and then Bob's your uncle!

Thought this might save someone some aggravation.

Microsoft and Apple don't see eye to eye. I have an iPhone 4 also. Calls work ok when connecting via blutooth, but I find making calls and playing music from my phone works better when I use the usb jack and the iPhone cable. Sometimes it still drops calls or stops playing the audio, so I unplug and replug up my iPhone and it fixes the problem. Playing music thru blutooth sounds horrible. My phone doesn't switch to sync, but it will index from every so often.

What? Apple and Microsoft don't see eye to eye? Nah.... :munch:

I play music via bluetooth and it sounds fine. I will say that if you have an equalizer set on your iphone it does change the way it sounds through your stereo. Also, I did turn the stereo setting on the car off of Surround Sound to just "Stereo" or whatever the only other option is and it sounds better like that.
