Would they automatically do a vin roll without the customer knowing what model year they ordered? I'd assume his order would still be a 15MY unless the dealer said otherwise.

Could also use a window sticker generator too....

If you look for the window sticker look for the G 1FAHP2XXXXXXXXXXX in the 10th digit Taurus should all be 1FAH P2 After that they split off
P2K is SHO P2E SEL I believe P2D SE Front wheel drive E SEL Front Wheel Drive P2K is SHO I know that much.

My '15 was ordered on 6/6, I was told the build date was 7/6 and it arrived at the dealer 7/16. Before I got a confirmation on the build date, I called Ford Customer Service and was told by two different people there that you can order a '15 till the end of November and production on the '15 would end on December 23rd. I would imagine before they start building the '16, they will need to do some major retooling since it's on a new platform. I'm pretty confused as to what's in production now and when the '16 production begins.

Where did you find the build date on the window sticker? I got the build sheets and all I can decipher there is that it was printed out at 2 AM on 7/9. I was told the build date was 7/6. I'm having a buddy print out an Oasis report so it will definitely be on there.

At thevery top of your window sticker, there is a blend date. XYYYYMMDD then a larger 4 digit code for line sequencing. As I noted below, my blend date was 7/13, but my car didn't hit end of line until the 17th.

Update: Ordered 6/5. Blend date 7/13, but produced 7/17. Dealer said Monday that they haven't received shipment details from CAP yet...and I haven't been updated since. Really hope it isn't being held for an onsite mod or other issue.

If I'm not mistaken the only 2016s in sight at the assembly plant were the two preproduction models they pulled out front for us to look over. It was my impression that the ones still on the line were 2015s. Most of us were surprised at the number of SHOs in the mix coming down the line with the regular Tauri, MKSs and Explorers. It was definitely higher than I would have thought.

I'm wondering if the 2016s will be a short run, with the new platform coming out as a 2017 in late spring. It's been known to happen when they update to an all new version of a previous model.

That sounds right. At the end of the link below, add your VIN. It will pull up your window sticker with the date info I mentioned. Blend date at the top along with sequence number.

No problem. I'm still waiting on my car....ordered 6/5 and it was built on 7/17. No ship date yet from the salesman. Not too thrilled. Hoping it's just because of the seats (suede + multi contoured) and its not sitting in a lot waiting for a mod.
