OK so here's the scoop......I have a 94 Mtx and the issue is the car has absolutley no power. When you start it up you can't even touch the gas untill it warms up or the car will die. Once it warms up it has a very noticeable miss. So anyway I pulled the plugs out and they smelled very much like gas. So I tested fuel pressure at the rail and It should be 28-33 with KOER and it was over 50! Any ideas why It is getting so much gas?

Thanks!

:thankyou:

Well Just too add this in there......I took a Fuel Injector flush kit set it to 30 psi and just dumped gas in there and hooked it to the rail and pinched off the vacuum to the regulator and it still ran the same.

The main computer mounted driver side front by radiator? Or the one on pass side firewall?

I'm not sure which does timing, i think it would be the one in the glovebox but I cannot conform it.

I know the one under the hood does control the fuel pump motor though.

I would still have you check the fuel pressure regulator. it may be plugged up and causing your high fuel pressure problem. just because you put a fuel injector cleaner on to your fuel rail that does not mean thats the pressure the rail is at. to check your pressure regulator start the car and the pull the vacuum line off and see if your pressure climbs or if it stays the same. then when you are done with that shut the car off and see how long it takes for the fuel rail to lose the pressure that is in there. another thing when you pulled your plugs out was there any oil in the spark plug openings if, yes then you need to replace your plugs wires and intake/valve cover gaskets. start with maintenance parts first before you go and start pulling every thing apart.

IIRC the fuel pump is always trying to pump to capacity.. i would check the regulator as stated above and possibly the cam sensor. Another thing.. Make sure your intake boles and clamps are tight! ;) My car was running mad rich and it was a vacuum leak causing the car to over compensate.

Pull the spout and force the engine to run off the crank position sensor. If it runs better, there is something wrong with the cam position sensor.
The easiest way to check for vacuum leaks is take a plumbers propane torch and open the valve slightly without lighting it and hold it around the intake connections. If the motor speeds up.....you have a leak.

When you checked the plugs and could smell the gas on them did you replace them? If you fixed the fuel regulator and didn't change the plugs then it wouldn't run any better until all the fuel is burned off the plugs. This can take a long time and sometimes it does not burn off.
