I've been getting cruddy gas mileage for the past month or two and I've been trying to find out what the cause of it is. I was getting around 24 mpg and it's down to 20. I had been getting a check engine light, so I changed the O2 sensors. After changing them I found out about how to scan the computer and did that. I got cound 124 meaning the Throttle Position Circuit was out of range. Also I have noticed that the engine is running a little rich. Finally I have heard that SHOs are very sensitive to temperature changes. Could any of these things be the cause of my loss in gas mileage? Would cleaning the intake and flushing the tranny help? Thanks guys

Well, the 124 code means that you need a new TPSensor. That will definately your gas mileage.

Yea I know that needs to be replaced. Hopefully I am getting one at a discount wink , otherwise I'll just go buy one. I was curious if that would affect the gas mileage, I guess it will.

Would the heater on do anything to affect the TP sensor? Because I haven't used the heater the past few days and today I used it and the Check Engine Light came on. I was wondering if there was some kind of correlation between the two. Thanks
