Ok... heres my problem..

I changed my PS fluid the other day.. it went great, except for that it came out alot faster than i expected... Man that stuff was black when i started...

but anyway.. that not the problem... I put my car on a lift to do the lock to lock stuff, and I think sometheing got messed up.. Ive had my car on the lift lots of time with no problem..

Now when I step on the gas from a stop i get a very pronounced clunk. this clunk can be felt and heard thgoughout the car. I can also make it clunk when i hit the breaks then step on it again.. I checked under the car, and couldnt find anythign obivously wrong.. and other than that clunk the car operates normally...

Any ideas?

I have developed that clunk I think too & after taking it to an alignment shop they think it is a strut tower bushing or something to that affect. It seems to not be a pressing concern & they said just to wait till spring. It is sometimes worse sometimes better & sometimes not at all.... sound like anything you're expieriencing? Hope this helps but good luck in your manhunt.

I had the same prob., its most likely your strut brace. What happens is they slip in a stop a go. What you did is made the rubber bushing lubricated with ps fluid.

I had to get mine welded. They break free from the frame. {You think you hear noises now}. On a good note its an easy fix.

Mine has the same start/stop clunk. The Ford dealer said it needs both engine mounts. I didn't get it done - they want $500.00 and others here said it should run $300.

Ok.. that makes sense to me.. Your talking about the "tension strut bushings" correct? My bushings are not healthy, but are holding up until I get my TPR's on the front..

I went in and talked to perf plus, and cathy said it might be the strut plate or something like that, but I'm scedualed to tgo in on the 28th so they can take a look at it.

Hopefully its something dumb like that.. because then I can do the work myself.. but if the struts have to be disassembled and all, I cant do that.. And, if I'm gonna pay for that labor, I'm goign to replace the front struts, because the rear ones need to be replaced.. and If I'm going to do all 4, I'm gonna get tokico/eibach so I dont have to worry about it anymore.

So.. in conclusion, Its either goign to cost me about $600 (replacing rear struts included) or about $1300

Ack.. I'm a college student..
