New question. I installed my amp and subs and they don't work. I saw that the fuse was blown on the power wire, so I replaced it and it still doesn't work. I have 4 RCA outputs. LEFT, RIGHT, NON FADING, and something else. Which one should I hook it up to? Also, how can I tell if the amp is getting power? My ground is good. I hooked up the turn on wire to the red one. Is this right. It is a Kenwood deck.

Is the power LED for the amp turning on? Is the protection light turning on? If nothing, have someone turn the key on while you watch the LED's, do they do anything at all (flash, etc)?

If its a sub, I would hook the rca's up to the non-fading rca's out of the headunit.

If you have a test light, you can hook it up from the power to the ground...if it works, both of those are good. Turn the key on, and use the test light from the remote turn on to the ground. If that lights up, then your amp should be turning on.

Another note, if you have the rca's hooked up to the non-fading on the back of HU, those may be controlled through the HU...aka I can turn the volume for my "sub" rcas off and can control the volume independly of the volume of all other speakers.

I take it you got the headunit out of the dash?

Yeah, I finally got it out. I had to take out the front part of my console as well as a lot of little screws. Force4 has these subs and they are really nice so I want to get them working! I have not checked the LEDs, so I will do that. NON FADING was my first guess, so that is what is hooked up to. The only other thing I can think of is the TURN-ON wire. I couldn't use the antenna output, because when I turn on CD mode, the antenna goes down. So I decided to splice into the RED wire. Is this right?

That is right, the red wire is usually the remote turn on for the radio. The yellow wire is on all the time for memory.

I checked everything! Everything is hooked up correctly, it is bridged properly, the green power light is on. But it doesn't work. I even played around with the bass boost and input level dials... no bass. Btw, my car came with no JBL and the deck is a Kenwood KDC-MP922. I have run out of ideas.

well you said your main fuse was toast...now check the 2-4 fuses on the amp itself...

an your rca wires...on the back of the deck the wires/jacks should be marked: front, rear, or sub, or sometimes input. you are using for sub, so attach there. then to the trunk to the amp, into the inputs (some amps also have outputs). theres a fuse for the deck itself to if your still not getting sound

I got it working now. I didn't take enough insulation off of the speaker wires :nut: ...
