Sounds like an alternator to me! Car probably ran off your battery until that died, now you have no power! Get it tested.

Does the battery have any charge to it. If so, then I suspect ground problem. If not, supply voltage to the battery ( via jump box etc... ) and see if your accessories come on. If so, there is a good chance your alternator went south and you were running off the battery.

I would think that car would turn the charging light on though.

Again , boost it , car running you should have 14,4 Volts on the batt. (with a multimeter) , anything less then 13V , you need an alternator.

update!!!

ok first off thanks to everyone for your help!!

i replaced the alternator and new belt. i didnt get a chance to charge the battery yet,but it starts and runs.

so my question is: would the low battery cause the ABS LIGHT to come on and the TACH to stop working??
i am hoping that all i need now is to charge my battery .
any help is always appreciated

thanks,
PAUL

I had exactly the same symptoms with a bad alternator.
CAUTION: If you didn't charge the battery, your new alternator is likely to blow a diode. Charge it or you'll be doing the same thing all over again and wondering why the alternator didn't last.

Low voltage will cause the relays to drop out. That's why the warning lights flash.

update

checked all wiring and found a burnt wire.
the one that goes to the under hood fuse box,it looks like a fusible link, that was burned all the way through.
so i fixed that and now the tach works normal. i hope that is all.
i will keep you posted if it keeps working or not.
moral of the story: CHECK YOUR OLD WIRING!!!
thanks for all your input
